Oregon regulates the physical output rather than the equipment. The law targets firearms that lack enough metal to be detected, and firearms that lack a serial number.
Prohibits manufacturing, selling, importing or possessing firearms made primarily from non-metal substances such as 3D-printed plastic or resin that cannot trigger walk-through metal detectors or X-ray machines.
Requires all firearms, unfinished frames and receivers, including those made on home 3D printers, to be permanently imprinted with a serial number issued by a Federal Firearms Licensee.
Manufacturing, importing or selling an undetectable 3D-printed firearm is a felony.
Possessing an unserialised 3D-printed firearm or frame starts as a Class B violation with fines up to $1,000, escalating to Class A misdemeanours or felonies for repeat offences.
Track compliance, state serialization protocols, and local police implementation.
